Out of Office continues its expansion

Out of Office Coffee (OOOC) which has already brought its tasty blends to Stony Stratford and Newport Pagnell is opening its third market town branch later this week.

Olney, the home of the pancake race, is the lucky site for the new coffee house, which occupies a former wine shop in Market Place that has been empty for the past six months.

OOOC has brought its usual comfortable contemporary feel to the branch, designed to make it a suitable place to enjoy a coffee with friends or, if you are at work and itching to get out of the office, to bring your laptop and enjoy a decent drink, not the cheap instant rubbish most offices have. Trust me, I've been there.

The branch had its VIP opening on Sunday where the coffee was flowing and the sweet stuff (free cake!) was being served. As you can see from the below photograph, I started to load up my plate (did I mention free cake!?) almost like I was stockpiling for a no-deal Brexit, but thought I'd better leave some for others.

Like a lot of the shops in Olney, there are twists, turns and small rooms that make it bigger than it appears from the outside. Up a short flight of stairs is an area named the boardroom, a tucked away space that is suitable for meetings, while off to the side of the main room is a snug area for secret rendezvous or just a quiet area to work if that is what you require.

The place was packed on Sunday and you could hear the appreciative murmurs coming from the visitors so I predict a firm future for OOOC's new branch.

The coffee was of its usual high standard while the cakes were delicious and just the right size. My favourite was the coconut flapjack, which also happens to be vegan so those with special dietary needs are catered for too.

You don't have long to wait to sample the delights of OOOC in Olney as it opens its doors this Thursday.

This branch won't be the final one for OOOC either as co-founders and directors Steven Dick and Ben Jarvis have their eyes firmly on the future. I look forward to visiting their next branch, whereever that may be.

Out of Office Coffee can be found at 38 Market Place, Olney.
